If I buy a Garmin GPS in the US, will I be able to use it on other continents like Asia and Europe?

I am completely new to GPS. I live in both the US and Europe and I travel quite a lot. I want to know if I can pop a new GPS into a car wherever I am and be able to navigate the streets. Is there a particular Garmin that anyone would recommend? Does it talk to me? Thanks for any guidance in advance.

Yes. All you need to do is buy the Garmin Maps for the area you live in.
For example I have a Garmin 260, and I have maps for North America and Europe. When I go to Europe, I use the European Maps and they are very accurate.
maps cost about $120 USD if you order from Garmin direct. May be cheaper if you buy from a store.
