WTF?? Garmin GPS Not Acquiring Satellites? Firmware problem?

Anyone else having trouble with Garmin Nuvi firmware? and, if so, Is it really worth having it sent in for repairs or should I buy a new Megellan?
This apparently a recently occurring problem with the Nuvi models. Garmin issued a statement that there is a problem with the firmware. Just curious if anyone has actually sent their Nuvi in to be repaired and what their experience was.
